I sat down with Sarah Hammond to chat about homebound homeschooling during the pandemic. Sarah and I are approaching this like a casual chat over coffee. Sarah is a mom and a teacher with experience in both public and alternative education settings, and I am an infant and child development consultant and homeschooling parent. Between the two of us we have almost 40 years of teaching or consulting experiences, but it is our role as parents that brings this chat the wisdom that we’re all just doing the best we can.
We recorded this live with others weighing in with ideas, comments, and perspectives. We’re grateful to have a community that is curious to explore engaging our children while also keeping it real: there’s a reason it’s hard. This is not homeschooling. It’s homebound learning during a global pandemic.
